I finally did it! I started my Masters degree in 2001, and after lots of trials and tribulations, most of my own making, and some time (try 3 years!!!) off, I have finally finished. After taking time off, it was REALLY hard to get back in the groove of school again, so I found reasons to procrastinate, but my mother nagged; my husband nagged; Molly nagged, and I got tired of hearing it, so I went back and finished. It is a great feeling to be finished, and I have to thank those who supported me through this last semester! I'm sure I was not easy to live with as I stressed out over homework and deadlines. Thanks to Duane, Mother, Daddy, Crystal, Laketha and everyone who listened to me gripe and complain and urged me on to the finish line. It is a great feeling to be a Former Student!
I graduated Saturday, May 10 at 2:00pm. Reed Arena was packed with people. It was a looooooong ceremony; a little over 1,000 students graduated with me. Duane, Mother, Daddy, Margaret & Keith Kersten (Duane's parents), and Granny Spain were there to celebrate with me as I walked across the stage. Thank goodness it's over! We didn't want to fight the restaurant crowds, so we came back here for some of Daddy's barbecue brisket & chicken & Mother's beans. Duane's mother made potato salad, and Granny Spain brought desserts. Crystal & Jeremy Drager brought the entertainment; Noah took his rightful place as the center of attention as we ate, drank, and made merry!
All in all, it was a great experience. I learned LOTS, and I'm GLAD to be finished! Gig 'Em, Ags!!!
