And the decorating has begun!

Probably the most fun (and frustrating?) part of the new house is decorating!  I am a long way from finished, but I think it is going okay!  (And BTW, what did people do before Pinterest????  All of my crafty, out-of-the-box ideas came straight from the posters at Pinterest!)

The "K" wall was the first crafty, Pinterest-inspired project.  I made several of the Ks that hang on the wall!

The entry hall...
 The office nook...
 Living room...

 Hallway...

 Dining Room...

Another crafty project...  Thanks (again) to Pinterest, I added our monogram to our bedroom wall.

Purchased the unfinished product from a vendor on Etsy...
Sanded, primed, painted (didn't like it), stripped awful paint job, sanded (again), and painted the monogram again.  The final product turned out pretty well, I think!!!

Just a couple of notes...the hallway collage frame is still hanging, but we still don't have any of our pictures in it!  Duane loves to ask me who those people are as he passes it in the hallway; maybe one day I'll be inspired enough to fill it with our pictures.  And, Eli is no longer hanging sideways; I have a new picture (from our photo session with Kaylee) hanging in that frame now!

Our Kersten Photo Shoot

Kaylee-Girl is quite an accomplished photographer, so I hired her to do a Kersten photo shoot.  She did a FANTASTIC job, which is amazing when you consider all of our shenanigans!

It was a FUN day, and considering that it was July in Texas, it was a bit cloudy and surprisingly cool, with a gentle breeze blowing.  (Okay, it was more like hurricane force winds, but it kept things nice and cool!!!)

Downtown Bryan was a GREAT setting for our pics!

Then, we headed to Miramont's entrance for some outdoors-y pics.

I took full advantage of Kaylee's visit and made Duane change into Aggie gear, and we headed to campus for a few more photos of us.

I am SO HAPPY we did this because the very next day, caution tape was put up and the razing of G. Rollie began.
THANK YOU, KAYLEE-GIRL!!!

Happy Birthday!

There are 3 July Birthdays in the Kersten Clan (Duane, Brian, & Granny), and since Kaylee was visiting, that made 4 July birthdays in our house that day!  We HAD to have a cake and celebrate the births of these 4 fantabulous individuals!!!

Happy, Happy Birthday to ALL!!!
